Ohkay Men so you complain about women because your jealous of the many fashion trends and styles we have to choose from so you pick on us for spending so much time at the mall. Then about how much time we take in preparing for our day, when lets be frank if you had as many options as we do youd take just as long minus the fact that in most cases women have more hair than men and that many of us wear a lil makeup. Well guys! Lately you've been taking it upon yourself to find styles of your own inspired by stars like Jay-Z, Kanye West, David Beckham(Soccer Phenom/Model), Usher, Brad Pit, Lupe, and Channing Tatum(Step Up) are setting the pace for suburban and urban America. Both white and black are combining their taste in fashion; bringing back styles from past decades. Yet Despite personal style, fashion designers are looking for inspiration elsewhere going back decades and centuries ago. The modern male today is looking ready for the world as he steps out in military inspired jackets and over coats, a more fitted jean, prep influenced attire, button ups, polo's and blazers, ties, tons of layers, unique kicks that bring out the color in your ansemble, suits for casual yet safisticated events, dates, and parties, and on a more daring fem-masculine look knitted and wool sweaters, patterns and fabrics are back, super deep V t's, slacks, and accessories such as watches and wristwear, scarfs, neckwear, and hats.
The agenda for Men 2009-2010 is rough, tough, rugged, prep-funk, sexy-sophisticated. For white men trying different cuts and styles isnt foreign or hard at all. Whereas for Black men its a little harder for them to step outside of their urban style and street inspired exterior. Sadly to say black men from urban areas are trying to fit in more than stand out using a more positive fashion influence. Instead they look to jail inspired baggy jeans to become (look) tougher, and oversized clothing despite their clothes dont fit. Certain styles arent for everyone, but most young adults would rather call a fashion trend such as sweaters and fitted jeans "gay," rather than try a look age appropriate, trendy, and professional. Not to knock the young men white, black, and hispanic that step outside their comfort zones, and stereotypes and express themselves through fashion. Upgrading their wardrobe and dressing appropriatly.
On that note here are a few style suggestions/tips that some of you may have interest in as you attempt to try out or mix into your wardrobe. Dont forget FASHION isn't just for women. Remember a woman likes a man who takes charge of his wardrobe as well as his lifestyle, and who represents himself and his woman in public. So before you use the word "NO", or "Gay", think about how you can incorporate some of these key items into your own personal style to start your own trend and try something different or new.
Success is like a fashion show it opens with determination, inspiration, and knowledge of you're trade and it closes with how you present yourself and how people remember you, and remember no one forgets labels.
Button Up Shirts: Collared shirts half buttoned with a blazer (vest), paired with shades (when weather appropriate), and watch. A collared shirt buttoned to the neck with a button up vest, tie, long chain/neckwear, and wristwear(cuff/bracelet) can give a sophisticated prep look some "umph." Dont forget about the button up under casual sweaters (sweater vests) paired with dark denium turn a casual look, grown and sexy. A scarf in place of a tie paired with a blazer or button up vest will make this day to night style look effortless and cool. Dont forget to try different colors and patterns such as plaid that can be dressed up or down.
Turtlenecks: Try something new just because you think you'll be an outcast think in terms of you setting your own tone. Dont do a turtleneck just because try this look when its weather appropriate and remember for those of you shaking your head if you've ever played a sport it's not to different from underarmor. Try this with a nice pair or jeans and overcoat if you're attending events or going on a date. A jacket or even better a motorcycle jacket can make a turtleneck look rock and edgy adding a chain/neckwear easliy turns this look stylish and urban. Blazers and vests also work well with a turtleneck it all depends on how far you're willing to style the look.
Sweaters: A sweater is a comfortable look. It can be simple, it can be fun, it can be semi-casual or semi-formal depending how you style it and the look of the sweater. Of course sweaters like that dont come cheap, but its all about the idea. Not to mention if its semi-formal you're going to get a little pricey anyway. A cardigan is an awsome sweater for these different styles and are trendy for this season. Gap and Old Navy are pushing this look, and is it this season. Sweaters are good for that interview, or meeting up for a social gathering, or attending an event or show. Stick to standard cotton or change it up wool, cashmere, or woven patterns, designs, and colors. Paired with any type of bottom whether slack, pant, or jean a sweater can be a good look for most occasions. Dress it down or up it works.

The Polo,Crew, and V: If these were people they would be the popular kids in town. Everyone has one, everyone needs one, everyone loves them. You can find each one of these styles for as cheap as walmart or as expensive as Armani. They are essential to a mans wardrobe because most men love to have a comfortable everyday look when their not doing much and these t's are the best. They are mens "throw on and go" especially when weather appropriate dressing up is never too easy. From V. to Deep V., Crew, or Polo with a pair of shades, watch/wristwear, and/or chain(neckwear), a pair of hot kicks or shoes and your ready for a night out or hanging around. Remove the accessories and you can slouch on the couch and watch the game till you're on the move again. Even when the weather changes a longjohn (long sleeve crew) underneath will do nicely to continue that comfort and style. Remember any of these tops paired with a blazer, vest, or sweater and its the perfect stylish under garment and dont forget colors.
